Trouble with Power On/Off

Yes, you are on the right track.  I entered the serial commands for the Samsung TV in the serial database.  I send the commands through the GenericSerial driver (I'm using a Global Cache GC100), to the TV.  I use an HDMI Matrix, so each TV has a small HDBaseT box that I use to send the serial command to the TV as all my equipment is downstairs in the equipment room.  But you could easily just send the serial command through the IPtoSL directly to the TV.
