Advice needed for leveraging Emby metadata in HA

I haven't touched HA in years but I started messing around with it again last night. I've managed to get things up and running and plumbed in to myServer. So far so good.

I set up an integration I found on GitHub that plays really well with my Emby server. It got me to thinking that it would be pretty neat if I could import some of this metadata into myServer and display it on a "Now Playing" overlay on the SmartRemote. Importing the text data from the entity is easy enough since it's just an alphanumeric string, but I'm not sure if it's possible to bring in the associated artwork.

Basically I want to recreate the media card from the Home Assistant dashboard on the SmartRemote and have it update in real time. Any ideas on how I can accomplish this? Running Emby on the pi4 myServer and just letting them talk to each other directly is a no go.

Eventually we will have a full UI and drivers for JellyFin and Emby, Kaleidescape and maybe Plex.
You will have to figure out HomeAssistant UI customizations....YAML stuff I think.
nothing like myDesigner.

You could probably make a custom dashboard on ha that has the desired cards and then use the webpage component on mydesigner to call that dashboard on the overlay.

Fatty it's like you're in my head. I was experimenting with exactly this last night but when I try to load the home assistant dashboard using the web component I get a refused connection error.

If I exit out of the smartremote app and use the stock android web browser it loads Home Assistant right up. I'll keep plugging away at it but I'm kind of at a loss.

Android webview doesn't support https? Or an old version of SSL cyphers? Just guessing. Have a look in the HA error log.
