Mom's myServer installation is running myServer 5 as the myMusic feature has been mission critical for her for many years now. It has worked very well for her. Now with the holidays approaching, the music feature is especially important. When I had to recently replace her physical server, the myServer 5 re-install has been working in some areas (thank you Dave P) and broken in many others including myMusic. I have been holding out on upgrading her to myServer 6 given the lack of myMusic feature in this version. I heard there may be possible alternatives in the works, but not sure if they have been released. What options are available and what have previous myMusic users migrated to after upgrading to myServer 6. The myMusic was a really cool feature for audiophiles who appreciated organized lossless local playback.
Thanks for your advice!

Yes, I too am a myMusic and myMovies fan. Unfortunate for us most people now stream most all of their content. So there has been limited demand / need for a myServer 6 version.
So, lets get a list of hands that need one or the other (please advise). So, we have two hands up so far!

And have you figured out a way to display what's playing, and / or pick from the library of media, and full transport controls (Next / Back / Play / Pause)?
Or just Play whatever is cued up in Homeseer?
I would install JellyFin and get your media working there. You can then inline frame the JellyFin web UI in a myServer webpage as a workaround. I use that on my boat and RV systems.

Well, the good news is after some tinkering I was able to get myMusic working on the aforementioned v5 installation. Christmas is saved. All is well. I like the JellyFin work-around and will keep that in mind if needed in the future.
Happy Holidays everyone,

Note that you can run Jellyfin, install the Jellyfin client on an AndroidTV box, use the AndroidTV driver to talk ADB to that box. Then, from the SmartRemote, you can view all apps on that AndroidTV box, launch them, and use the SmartRemote's hard buttons to navigate the Jellyfin app, view your collection on your TV, and launch your Music or Movies.
