Is painfully misguiding. Following the steps for Kodi myServer App Configuration and State Variable Configuration and then Play Movie leads to utter frustration as it doesn't work and leads in circles.

However following the Kodi myServer App Configuration and then completely ignoring the State Variable configuration and Play a Movie section and load the provided kodi.html in the Modern UI template and that will play a movie and provide basic controls.

How? I dunno yet. As the app page is referencing the player id directly and the state variable for zones and movie aren't in play.

I'm thinking no documentation has been updated and there's some mix up between the previous Kodi "Driver" and the Kodi "App" and they are both listed and neither are documented?

We are updating the documentation right now.
The Kodi Driver docs didn't exist. And yes, they were a copy / paste from the Kodi App that is then going to be updated.

Ok so I'm not the crazy one here then?

So at this point in time.... Which is the correct Kodi to be trying to use? App or Driver? (Driver won't install anyways).

Should I wait about Kodi and work around something else?

the Kodi App is working fine. Use that.
I did notice that 18.5 64 bit was crashing on a Windows machine. Downgrading to 18.4 seems to be working. Their Docs stink too

Any further docs on the Kodi app usage or just dig through the designer scenes?

I loaded kodi last night running 18.5 64bit on Windows 10 and so far no crashing. I was about to transition over to LibreElec on a rPi4 and see how it goes.
