MLMediaStream Beta Available

Mon Oct 02, 2006 9:52 pm

MLMediaStream is a brand new addon to the MainLobby suite. MLMediaStream allows for control over TV tuner cards. Channel selection, Input selection and other attributes are controllable via MLServeCmds. Additionally, the product uses a streaming server to capture the audio / video output and streams it over the LAN or Internet to the MainLobby Client that runs a special player within MainLobby.

This new product now allows for cameras to be installed on PC A, streamed via PC B, to display on PCs A, B, C, D, E, etc. Or any combination. You can also stream live TV broadcast captured by the TV tuner!

We will now asking for beta testers to evaluate this nifty new product. Hardware requirements include a quality, PC with a TV capture card. We hope to support the Hauppauge PVR-150, but that one is giving us some streaming challenges so far. If you don't have a TV capture card, then you can also stream a PC camera video if it is seen by Windows as a Capture Card device. There is a fair amount of software that has to be installed on the PC, so you should be prepared to reinstall the operating system load on the PC if things don't go as planned in the beta.

We only need a few testers initially, so if you are interested, post in this thread soon.

Thanx for consideration.

Please count me in. I have been holding off on a new capture until something like this is available. If you can recommend a capture device I will purchase one for testing. This will be a major leap forward in distributing media throughtout the home.

Count me in. I've been crying about getting this functionality for sometime now. Hope it supports the cheapie Hauppage WinTV card.

Smooth do you have room for one more. I already have two Belkins attached, I have a 150 card, 250 card and a 500 card, so which capture card would you like tested with it, and will it do multiples?

Thanks,
Greg

I am also Very interested in this. I have a working model using UnReal streaming but I would LOVE to be a beta tester. I currently have a 640 by 480 30 frame per second at 1000kb a sec stream working well.

Please let me know what I can do to help.

Thanks Chris

If the flash component can't see it, very likely the Flash Server can't either. The DVR card isn't appearing like a camera object to Windows.
