Best Practice for migrating myServer installation to a new server

Thu May 17, 2018 10:17 pm

The time has come to upgrade my server. What is the appropriate way to migrate an installation from one machine to another? Do I first need to deactivate/uninstall from old server prior to installing and reactivating on the new machine?

Thank you for your help

If you are already on myServer5 and are moving from one hard drive to another,
Backup your old myServer folder and your database (from within myServer application).

Install from scratch myServer latest to the new hard drive.
Once running, restore from the old database.
Copy your HTML directory to the new server installation.

You will need to reactivate your licenses. Send us your details via PM.

Is this still the preferred method for doing this? I am installing a new server and I am planning to move MyServer over to it. I am hoping this will allow me to get rid of the crashing issue I have been having, but also to move to much newer hardware and Windows 10
