Ecobee - reauthorize

Fri Apr 03, 2020 10:03 am

For some reason... ecobee connection got lost this morning after the daily MLSERVER reboot... and the ecobee authorization is gone... I don't have a 4 digit pin code on the MLSERVER plugin screen to force the reauthorization. Any suggestions on how to reset this connection?
Thanks.

Download latest ecobee driver and reauthenticate your account to reenable ecobee.

Took two tries but it's back up. Out of curiosity... did they change something?
Thanks for the quick fix :P

Nah, I screwed up and killed our online ecoBee account. That forced having to publish a new driver for the new API...

Has the ecoBee driver been stable for you? Have you had to manually reauthenticate?

Yet another reason cloud integrations are a pain...

Yes they are a pain...but the thermostats are doing a very nice job compared to the old RCS z-wave that I had in the past. The driver had been pretty stable until yesterday's issue. But in general very good.

Re: Ecobee - sensors

One thing to consider on the Ecobee driver is to pickup the status of the sensors both from the main thermostat as well as extended sensors. They send pretty useful information (occupied, not occupied). I am doing a couple of gyrations across homeseer to make a virtual device that eventually gets picked up by the homeseer Allonis driver... if they're in the API, might as well pick them up natively.
Just at thought

Looks like we're back to having to re-authorize once a day. I am trying to pinpoint exactly when it starts getting the denial from ecobee and the log message to re-authorize. It feels like it's been happening for the past several weeks. Something happened?
