New Thermostat

Fri Oct 18, 2019 1:11 pm

Hi All,

Just replaced my old A/C unit.

Need a new thermostat, that works with My Server, to control a 2 stage unit with dehumidifier.

Suggestions ??

Thanks
Erik

Look into Venstar. Local WiFi...no cloud required. Driver is available.

My current (RCS) thermostat fried, so I am also in the market for a new one. Need to order it asap. I understand the following play nicely with MyServer, but wanted some advice which one would be the best to get. I see some posts about Cloud TStats not playing very well with Allonis, but not sure why and what the issues could be with those.

I shortlisted the ones below, but am pretty open...

Ecobee Smart Thermostat
Venstar (T7900)
Honeywell (Which model?)
RCS Wi-Fi (TW45)
Nest (I understand this is no longer supported - can someone confirm?)

Thanks in advance !

pete_auto,
I have some RCS thermostat / parts here...not sure what works and what doesn't.
But it's just taking up space here.
What do you need?

But out of the thermos you mention...only Venstar is (should be) locally controlled. The rest are cloud integrations that are very unreliable.

No to NEST. Google's acquisition is painful.
ecoBee hasn't been completely reliable.

Thanks Dave...

I was referring to the RCS thermostat (model TW45) as an option. It seems I should go the Venstar route. Do you sell these, or the RCS model I mentioned?

Thanks

The Venstar Colortouch and Explorer line of thermostats support the Local API feature.
