Yamaha AVR Driver released

Thu Nov 07, 2013 7:47 pm

A Native V4 device Driver for Yamaha receivers that support the Yamaha YNCA protocol has been released. This driver supports the following Yamaha devices: RX-V671, RX-A700, RX-A710, RX-V867, RX-V871, RX-A800, RX-A810, RX-A1000, RX-A1010, RX-A2000, RX-A2010, RX-A3000, RX-A3010 along with any other model that supports the YNCA protocol.

We do not have Yamaha models in house for testing so if you have one of these please let us know how it works.

If you have an older Yamaha receiver that is not on this list a second Yamaha driver is in development that uses the older serial protocol.

Thanks Dave! I have a RX-A2010 and an RX-V3900 so I am excited about both drivers. Will let you know what I find.

Good, if you discover any issues I'll have to remote into your system so that I can properly debug the driver.

I am trying to get my RX-V577 working - I have it working with the Yamaha iApp and I see the plugin properly "connected" using the IP and port 50000... No commands issued are worked and I don't see any status. But, I see no errors in the log...

The driver has never been debugged or tested as I have never had access to a compatible receiver to test it on.

Any chance to login and debug on mine? Everything is configured and the one that I have installed is at 192.168.1.134. I now have 2 Yamahas as both my Denon's fried due to a recent lightning strike... Thanks.

I should have commented back here sooner but all has been working well with the new Yamaha driver and my RX-A2010. I have only used the basic power, input and zone commands but I have been using it since last November with no issues. Dave you are always welcome to use my system for testing/debugging should you need to.

Any plans on adding the following older Yamaha Receivers? I am currently using the Legacy Driver for these.

Yes - just need to find the time to do it. I have a RX-2700 too.

I have an RX-V3900 and could benefit from an update adding the old protocol too.

Thanks

Over the past several weeks I am having some intermittent problems controlling my RX-A2010. Probably something going on with my system. I have a static IP assigned to the unit and can still pull up the web based control directly using a browser even when ML can't connect to it. Anyone else seen anything similar?

Thanks!

I have had similar issues with this, the Denon and the Onkyo plugin. I can't put my finger on it. Every so often I have had to unplug my receivers, wait a bit, then turn them back on (I have a few Yamaha's, 1 Denon and 1 Onkyo). After I do that, they all work OK... I could access them with the web OK but ML wouldn't work. I would say that happened about once per week. They don't all go out at once (meaning I had the Denon stop but the Yamaha's were fine). A few months ago, I setup a daily task to restart ML server at 2am - since I did that this issue is happening much less than it use to... But, a few weeks ago I had to restart all the receivers to make it work. So now I am down to maybe a few times a month. What stinks is I travel weekly and my luck is it happens the first day I leave - it is too complicated to get the wife to run around the house and unplug these amps so the issue waits for me to return on Friday...

Any Plans to add RX-V675? I tried using the RX-V671 setting but it doesn't seem to like it. I've attached what is sent with the receiver for web control, don't know that it is all that helpful. Also added the log file.
