Generic IP Camera Driver

Thu Jan 17, 2013 4:45 pm

A new Generic IP Camera driver was released today. This is a universal driver that should work with all IP based cameras. Once you define the camera in Family Manager you would then go into the GenericIPCam driver and set up the various URLs for the camera commands. See the attached images for a Foscam example. Let us know how it works for you.

Dave,

Did the Panasonic cameras get direct support in the existing V4 driver. If not do you know what URLs need to go into the new generic driver to support them?

Thanks.

I am just setting up snapshot viewing, I cannot see a way of deleting the current image that you are viewing, there appears to be no variable to number the image being viewed. There is a variable {{video_1_imagenumber_server}} but this contains the total number of images, should this variable be showing the number of the image being showed since there is already a variable {{video_1_totalimages_server}}for this.

There's another update to that driver coming in the next couple of days that addresses that issue. Hand on for that update.

Is there any limitation with live images or is there a specific button library or button config I should use?

Thanks in advance for your help

Yes there are limitations with live images in Mainlobby. A lot of the new cameras are using streaming jpeg format and the MainLobby jpeg loaded object has a hard time with some of the codecs used in the streaming jpegs. Under those circumstances you need to use the static image and set it to reload.

The best I could come up with a video stream for my Panasonic was to use the web object and point it to

http://<<ip address>>/ImageViewer?Mode=Motion&Resolution=320x240&Quality=Standard&Interval=10&Title=1

only issue is you cant resize the image (even if you change the resolution in the URL). Technically it can be done, just need to spend some more time with it....

Thanks GreyT

I figured out that I had to reinstall the Weblobby Library so its being show up on Mailobby. I tried your URL on a MLWebWindow and its working--

By the way the MLWeb Server App is not longer required just the library.

I will continue to test the MlGeneric IP Driver and reporting any issue

Tks
