Update to the latest firmware from Vera (UI7 ▾ Version 7.0.4 (1.7.513/1.7.961) ▾ Feb. 3, 2015)
I came home to a comatose Vera again that wasn't responding to zwave commands. Upon reboot I had only a power light and the wifi was blinking which means no internet; or in my case a hosed Vera that can't find the internet. Keep in mind this is on a new Vera unit since the first one is still a paperweight right now.
Changing the IP info on my computer and trying to get at the unit on it's default Ip of 192.168.81.1 failed
Which left me to have to wipe the unit (again) by depressing the reset button for >20 seconds which yields a red/green blinking light
After a few minutes, the unit rebooted at it's default IP and I was able to get into it and restore the backup file again.
Before initiating the restore, you have to select the "Restore Z-Wave network" option
Once that was done, I had to heal the zwave network with it's default options - just click "go" in the zwave menu under restore tab
That didn't get all my devices back for about an hour - not sure what it does after that. Do restart your browser and/or click ctl-refresh
Some devices worked, but yell constantly about failed at getting manufacturer - (leviton fan switches) go into the device advanced tab and change automatically configure to "NO" and the Vera will stop complaining about that at least. (don't do this if the device won't work - you may have to re-add
That was my wasted time last night, I'll post back how long it sticks after about 2 weeks.
FYI, battery devices may need to be manually prompted to re-configure because they work differently now.
If you can't get into the unit at all after the update as above, then you may have to "recover" the unit, which I have yet to be able to do successfully on my bricked unit. Good luck.
