iTunes: Open Call for Beta Testers

Fri Dec 14, 2007 12:08 pm

We are getting close to wrapping up our iTunes plugin and will need some beta testers onboard to give it a workout.

We're really excited about the capabilities of the plugin and the ability to allow users to completely customize the interface.

This plugin will not replace or hinder our support for J River Media Center. But sets the framework for the rewrite of MusicLobby 3 or more so, the J River plugin to provide complete customization.

Anyone interested, please reply to this thread. It would be nice to know roughly how many songs are in your collections when posting.

Mario,

I'm interested in beta testing the iTunes plugin.

Does this require that iTunes be installed on the same PC as MLserver? Mine is currently not on the same PC.

Lib size is 15272 songs.

Thanks

I would love to give it a shot. I have over 32,000 songs on my NAS. Itunes on every machine in the house and I have 3 Main Lobby clients working in my set up.

I am interested. I have many songs on several machines.

(well not 32,000  like another post, but more like 3,200)
Thanks

iTunes does not have to be installed on the same PC as MLServer. A separate program gets installed on the iTunes machine that handles communication with MLServer. While not tested yet, it should support multiple iTunes machines - meaning the potential of multiple zones of audio.

It's important to note that your tags play an important part of your music's organization. But I think that probably goes without saying. Improperly tagged songs will not provide proper sorting.

Count me in.

I know this is a stupid question, but my iTunes collection is on a Mac, as the only PC in my house is my MLServer. So will there be a OS X compatible agent?

If not, I guess I'll have to get more storage for my MLServer and figure out how to sync my collection.

How good can it be, if it isn't HD?
