Difficulty with the MLHAI.Unit cmd for lighting

Sat Nov 03, 2007 3:50 pm

Hi All,

I'm having limited success with the MLHAI control of my UPB lighting in the house. I can get units to turn on and off, no problem. However the dimming doesn’t seem to be working as described in the docs or on the WIKI?

For instance, of the 4 parameters that get passed <unit#> <action><brightness> <time> - I see that there is a H (for hours?) and M (for minutes?) option on the "time" parameter, when this is set though it seems to be for the duration, not the ramp time?

So when I set MLServeCMD.MLHAI|5~2~5~1m for Unit5~Dim~level5~1 minute it looks like the lamp waits for one minute before it dims to this level. Also, if the lamp is off the "dim" never happens?

I'm trying to setup 4 theater scenes that will give me 4 different lamps at a "full", 'intermission", "movie" and "off' settings but I want them to ramp to levels not just jump.

Has anyone successfully implemented something like this? Is there a way to control the ramp time on the levels?

Thanks - Dave

Thanks smoothtlk,

Could you give me a SWAG about when it might be "beta" ready? Is this days, weeks or months?

Is anyone using the MLHAI plugin to control lights?
I'd appreciate any tips or suggestions on dimming.

THanks
